Event description

CPA Ontario and CPA Canada are jointly hosting a free breakfast professional development panel discussion on sustainability in Toronto on June 16th.

The risk profiles and strategic positioning of organizations in Canada and around the world are being directly affected by global and local changes in temperature, frequency and severity of extreme weather conditions, and the availability of water and other natural resources. A changing climate gives rise to a variety of business issues including operational, financial and legal obligations.

Professional accountants have a critical role to play in how organizations respond in managing risk, identifying and seizing opportunity and creating a more resilient organization.

This session provides expert perspectives on how you can help your organizations proactively manage for the effects of a changing climate. Learn from Cathy Cobey (EY), Rachel Guthrie (TD Bank Group) and others about:

  • What a changing climate looks like
  • Impacts on organizations
  • How to help organizations plan for and adapt to these impacts

This session is part of a multi-year CPA Canada initiative: more details at the CPA Canada website.

Additional funding support is provided by Natural Resources Canada, and the project is managed by the Network for Business Sustainability at Ivey Business School.
