  • For most professional accountants, tax issues respecting a deceased taxpayer, his or her estate, and the testamentary trusts that may be created arise relatively infrequently. Yet the task of advising, or being an executor or trustee and dealing with tax compliance obligations can be complex. This seminar will address many of the typical taxation issues that must be addressed when an individual dies, as well as considering post-mortem planning opportunities that may be available.

    TOPICS INCLUDE:

    • Estate administration tax
    • Deemed realizations
    • RRSPs and RRIFs
    • Filing and payment obligations
    • Charitable bequests
    • Testamentary trusts
    • Post-mortem tax planning

    WHO WILL BENEFIT:

Professional accountants who act as, or advise executors or trustees.
