EVENT DESCRIPTION

Waterloo-Wellington CPA Ontario Association Presents: Rockway CC Event No 5 - Client Aggression & Incivility: What do Accountants Experience?

What do Accountants Experience? How do They Cope, and What Effects can it Have on Them and Their Work?

Professional accountants' experiences facing aggression and incivility from their clients - what kinds of acts do clients engage in, how do accountants cope with these aggressive and/or uncivil acts, and how does it impact their work?

Learning Outcomes:

Some learning outcomes include understanding the nature of relationship-based work challenges accountants face, identifying different strategies to cope with client aggression and incivility, understanding how such actions can impact accountants and their work and understanding the benefits and limits of different coping strategies.

Who Will Benefit?

CPAs in audit, tax, and consulting public practice will benefit the most from this event, as they were target participants in the research and findings being discussed. A primary benefit of the event is to start or continue a dialogue on non-technical (i.e., inter-relational) challenges that CPAs and accountants face, so that the issues can be put out in the open and remedies can be explored.
