EVENT DESCRIPTION
This symposium will cover two key themes: ‘Behavioral Ethics for the Accountant’ and the importance of ‘Doing the Right Thing’.
The research being done in the field of behavioural ethics can help us understand the key factors that influence our behaviour, particularly intentional or unintentional actions that violate our own ethical standards and those codified in the CPA Code of Professional Conduct. In this symposium, we will specifically explore the concept of fraud through a behavioral lens.
Focusing exclusively on results can lead to “doing whatever it takes” instead of “doing the right thing.” As professionals, it falls to us to generate the expected business outcomes with integrity and dignity. Working ethically protects your professional designation, builds your reputation and brand, and makes your organization, industry, and country better places to live and work.
